I have basses with Bart an Aguilar preamps and have had one with an Audere. My fav is the Aguilar. Anyone know how the Glockenkang compares to these?

I do. I posted all about it here:

I love it. Much better than the Bart pre was in my Warrior.

Yeah and they sound great. Here is a link to the Roscoe forum where there has been a lot of discussion and installs of the Glockenklang preamp. Call Brandt at The Perfect Bass and he will hook you up with a great price. There preamps do require some soldering, so if you are not comfortable soldering wires to a PC board, have your luthier do the install.

got one, 2-band (well, says sandberg, but is supposedly the same as they used glock before and they look the same) in my sandberg california pm5. very transparent, love the voicing of the eq (deep bass, very airy highs). very useful passive option with no volume drop. perfect match for that bass.

cheers,
lowstar

I have a Glock I use to prevent my gear from walking away... does that count?

Oh, wait, what? sorry, wrong Glock. Never mind.

I have one in my home built bass, I can't really compare it to anything, but based on simply my use of it I have to say it does exactly what it should and is every musical, the highs and lows are incredibly well voiced, the mids really cut, though personally I like the mids a little bit higher and or parametric mids I really can't complain cause this pre is awsome

I've got one in my Human Base Daily5FL.
Read about it here: My new Human Base Daily 5 Fretless

I'm convinced... the pre/EQ works so well, that I use it and forget that its even there. No slight treble hiss or other less than perfect aspect to remind one of it's existence. I'm contemplating retofitting my other bass with one also.
