I don't see any huge reason to buy them. They're not cheap at the delivered price.
Though they've recently taken a price jump, I've seen new Fender OV sets go for $43 on sale with a stacked coupon.
This is not to say that these things bad pickups, but you probably wouldn't be able to unload them for much if you wanted to sell them off for something else -- and that's a consideration.
That said, some Korean companies make extremely exotic and pretty expensive pickups using US components for the Japanese market. We never see these here.
Pickups are about the most primitive electronic product imaginable, never mind among the most overpriced, so I don't see where they are assembled as being especially important except as price goes.
You won't progress musically until you stop thinking like a musician and start thinking like a producer.
