AVRI '62 Jazz VS '62 CS Jazz NOS Pickups

I need some advice: Just picked up an AVRI '62 Jazz and the Fender schematic and parts list say it has '62 american vintage jazz pickups. When I called Fender to check on the pickups in the CS '62 Jazz NOS they say they come with custom shop pickups.

When I played my friends CS it sounded more bright and seemed to exaggerate the low and the low mid more than my AVRI.

Are the two sets of pickups that different? Would it be worth buying a set of CS jazz pups and replacing the '62 vintage pups?

If they were both built to recreate the '62 jazz sound why are they so different?

BTW: I did check out Smash's review and the comparison.xls. and they don't compare these two pick up models. Although the comparison chart did give the CS some good numbers.

Yes, they are different. The CS is slightly overwound compared to the AVRI.
