Unhappy Bad circuit board on Fender bass, Help!

Sign in to disble this ad
I have a Fender Deluxe P-Bass Special. I recently changed the battery on my bass and forgot to unplug the bass from the amp when doing so. Unfortunately, I not only blew the fuse in my amp, but I also ruined the circuit board(according to the guy at the repair shop.)

What I was wondering is where I could get a new circuit board? The repair shop said they couldn't get one from Fender, so I'm trying to find a place to purchase it.

Also, is it an option to replace the whole onboard pre amp with a different, possibly a better one? I'm really in the dark about this because my knowledge of electronics is very limited. Thanks for any info.

Just buy a different preamp. Do a search for opinions on which is best.
