Unhappy bad tone

Need some advise on a tinny condition with a '75 precision. Used to happen with new strings, then return to normal after a week. Now, constant. Luthier checked out electonics , found to be good. Sounded perfect on his amp. Bought new cords, still sounds very tinny (like one end of strings attached to a coffee can) on both my amps. Any ideas for a solution?

Have you tried any other basses through your amp?

Or it could possibly be a bad cable. You said it worked fine on your luthiers amp... oh but you tried new cords too? Weird. And its on BOTH of your amps? So it doesnt seem to be your amp. Do you run through an effects/pre's before your amps?

Have you tried moving your amp to a different room? Some rooms just don't sound good.

Turn your treble knob on the amp down to 0, and if it still sounds tinny, you definetly have a problem.
