Barcus Berry B3150 and GK MB150E-III/112

The Barcus Berry B3150 and GK MB150E-III/112 is a great combination. My question is for users of the Barcus berry B3150 with the preamp. Is it designed so that the preamp, with the velcro strip, is attached on top of the tailpiece of the double bass?
