Bart or Delano?

Sign in to disble this ad
I'm considering replacing the pups in my 6 string fretless. Currently it's got a pair or single coils. I like the sound, but the nature of single coils makes the bass almost un-useable in some rooms that I play due to noise. So...I'm looking at humbuckers to replace them.

The current pups measure 5 1/2 x 1 1/4. Delano makes a 7-string soapbar that would drop right in. Bart makes the G6 that measures 5 1/2 by 1"...leaving 1/8" space on either side.

Has anyone got any experience with the Delanos? They're about twice the price of the Barts...if it's just a question of asthetics I think I'd go Bart at this point...since I know and like the way they sound.

Opinions?

Delanos.

Barts have never done anything for me but the Delanos I've played were stellar.

+1 for DELANO. barts are too hot and dry. They may also sound brittle when coupled with a bart preamp...

My 6 string's barts aren't too hot or dry for me. They're nice.

The Delano JSBC and SBC series have sounded gorgeous whenever I'm come across them online. They would be my first choices in a 6 or 7 string instrument.
