I like active basses. I already have a Jazz with active EMG's and bts preamp. I am building another but I want Barolini's this time. What mac daddy pup and pre would you bart guys suggest.

I'd put a Bart preamp with their pups. I'm also partial to double-coil pups to avoid hum. There are "deep" and "bright" versions of the Barts.

There are several choices on http://www.bartolini.net . You choose your configuration of knobs and they have prewired harnesses. Mount the pots and switches, wire the pickups, plug in a battery.

Whether or not it's "mac daddy" is up to you...whatever that means.

LOL not that hard to figure out mac daddy. You know that emg and Bart makes alot of stuff but generally they have that one option that is considered premo. Like what setup gives the best active tone and what setup is the best passive. There is so many options and I an unfamiliar with the Barts. I too like the DC's but this is going in a Jazz so the pup spacing is what it is. Does Bart make a small DC version of their jazz pup like Seymour annd dimarzio do for guitar? Maybe I shoulda asked that question in the origial post lol.
