I don't know what the he'll happened but the Bartolini MK5s (stock) on my ibanez just got grindy. They always had that warmer mellow growl to them, but after a battery change they got grindy. It's like someone took the drive and cranked it up and added some buzzsaw. Especially in the lower register. At first I thought maybe it way my amp, but it's not. It's the pups. Any ideas why that would happen? Did I fry something? Did I smack it around too much?

It's not the end of the world. It still sounds fine, but my nice jazzy clean tone is gone.

Yeah, and if you have a multimeter you can check the voltage if the battery you just put in. I've found that if I don't immediately toss the olds and pull the news straight the box, I get them mixed up easily - or those half-used ones you don't want to throw away...

Haha i've been through several. I suppose I should have stated that. Ive done all the basic things one would do. I changed strings, batteries, different amps and headphones and whatnot.

I feel like its going to be something stupid.
