bart NTBT + sd BS on warwick?

Sign in to disble this ad
hello, i have a few questions.
I have std. vette (passive) and im unhappy with the stock mec's.
I have no experience with active basses so I need to know if the next combo will work and fit on my vette:
Basslines SJB-1 - Vintage Bass Pickups
BARTOLINI NTBT PREAMP 3.3 A/P(2 Pickup - 3 knob configuration )
im looking for more low end\fat sound and more output + clear and smooth overtones (the mec are bright and thin sound) but I want to keep the unique growl.
is it a good combo? if not, what other setup you recommend?
does the preamp have passive\active switch?
as much as I understand, pickups stay passive and the "active" gear is the preamp. am I right?

Thanks in advance.

FWIW:

Seems Duncan has dimensions listed on their site - compare those with yours.

If you want to keep anything unique about the bass, you either want to keep it like it is or make it reversable so you can change it back. You'll know what a change will bring about once you've done it.

Seems like that's the Bart code for a passive switch in the harness. Not hard to ad one regardless.

Yes, those pups are passive and the preamp is active.

I would suggest you change either the pups or preamp at different times so you know what difference the pups or preamp make. You may find you don't need the other after changing one.
