Just in case anyone is interested, I re-wired the above today (following the diagram for the Delano soapbar) which gives you
rear single coil/parallel humbucking/front single coil. What an improvement! It really brought to life the dull muddy sound of the P4's, and gives you a parallel sound (tiny bit SR'ish), and a choice of single coil sound/positions. Well worth doing - I wish I'd done it years ago. I was thinking of getting rid of this bass, but not now. The diagrams are on the Best Bass Gear site. Do it - you won't regret it!
