Bart P4s easily replace Big Singles?

Sign in to disble this ad
This may be a stupid question but.... I have a passive bass with Big Singles and I want to know if I can easily replace them with P4s. They are about the same size. I just want to know if I can undo the pickups at the pots and simply re-solder the new pups in the same places or are the Barts different somehow?
The site I looked at says the barts are four conductor pups ?

The Barts have 4 hires, black, green, red, and white.

Connect the red and white together and tape them off. Green is ground and black is hot. The bare wire goes to ground.

Then they just wire up to the pots as normal.

Here's their instruction sheet showing a lot of wiring options. At the bottom you can see the wiring without any switches.

Yes I do. I'm a full time repairperson/pickup maker/luthier.
