Bart Quad Wiring Diagram for P-Bass Split

Sign in to disble this ad
Please pardon me if this is a duplicate thread; I did a search but did not find a specific, existing thread.

I have 2 Bartolini XXM45C's (one for the Bridge and one for the Neck position) and would like to take advanage of the Quad Coil and emulate the P-Bass Split pickup option (From the Bart website: [the] pickups have 4 coils that can be switched to yield these combinations:
.series
..parallel
...regular P-Bass* split 3bass/2treble (bass side coil nearest the neck)
....reversed P-Bass* split 3bass/2treble (bass side coil nearest the bridge)

Can anyone point me to the specific wiring diagram to enable these options? The pickup's shipped with a "Switch Wiring for dual coil pickups with 4-Conductor cable" even though they are quads...

Any help will be appreciated greatly and again, please forgive the duplicity if this is a repeated thread...

FWIW:

don't know the pup but if it doesn't have 8 terminals on the back then you can't isolate the individual coils. If Bart says it can be ran split P fashion then it could be that's how they have it wired already - P and reverse P hardwired internally. If that's the case then you'd only need to connect two of the leads. If it has 8 terminals on the back then you'd need to run additonal wires to the terminals with no leads.

At any rate, you'll probably need a meter to figure out what goes to what.

Most Bart quads don't have 8 terminals so you can't maximize the options of a quad, don't know about this one.

If nothing else, you can wire the pickup/switch to a jack, plug the jack in to an amp, turn the amp on, and tap on the pups so see what you've got without installing it in the bass.

My guess is it will be P/reverse P that's switchable - but I don't know cause I've never had them.

Thanks for the feedback; I've still found no supporting documentation, so I guess I'll just write it off to "Marketing..."
