Bart Soapbar/Preamp combo for a Warmoth?

Sign in to disble this ad
Just ordered myself a Warmoth Alder body blank routed for EMG35 size pickups combined with a Pau ferro/Birdseye maple neck(first home built bass! ).I've personally always liked Barts but I'm wondering which models.I know the M3 or BB will fit the routs.I was thinking of the BB4M (split coil/deep tone)in the neck and the BB4CBC(dual coil) in the bridge..what do you think?
Use 2 of the BB4CBC's or 2 M34CBC ? same tone?
This will be in combination with a Bart 3.3 AP pre amp(already aquired).
What do you guys think?
Would also be open to any suggestions for other makes of pickups (Nordstrand,Delano,EMG etc) to work with the Bart pre..a lot of you have more experience with pickups than I do.

FWIW:

pups are a personal choice that depends on a myriad of variables - that frequently change over short periods of time. See FAQ Dimento's Trouble Shooting guide 1st paragraph bass mod link for how I choose pups.

The pre isn't going to care what pups you put to it but you might need to change pots for active pups. Many Bart pre's have a gain trim pot.
