Bartolini´s 9CBJS or 9CBJD on a Fender Jazz Bass (Made in Mexico)

Hey all, cheers !

I bought my Fender J Bass a while ago, and since I really didn´t like its tone, tried to change its pickups for Bassline set... Still not quite satisfied, I wander if the Bartolini´s would fit right to get a fat, rich tone... I also have a Cort Curbow bass, with a Bartolini soap bar pickup... so the idea comes for that... Its either that or going to a Stingray...? A Corvette Double-buck...? What do you guys think?

Have you tried just changing the preamp?

The CBJD1 pickups are nice. Although I wouldn't say they have a ton of low end; more of a bulge in the lower mids and not so much really low bass. I find them to be very clean sounding.
The price is right and I sold a pair for more than I paid new, so they aren't a gamble.
Fender CS '60's have a better low end IMO. YMMV.
