I just purchased a set of Bart 8S pups ( P-bass) and they are;








DEAD!




bought them off eBay , supposedly NIB ,really high resistance
, in the megaohm range

I am not upset with the seller , just the fact that I wanted them to work so badly and they don't. He is in contact with me and ???

Sorry to hear you had problems. To buy in good faith and then not have get the same from the seller really is the pits!!

However, as a user of Bartolini (actually Hi-A) in my '61 P for over 30 years, I would encourage you to try again if you are looking for a very round, warm sound. No grit, no growl. Works for me.

did you have a preamp and new battery?
i scored a free set of emgs waay back when some random thought his pickups were dead after he left his bass plugged in overnight;ha;
for the record, nowadays i would 've told him the problem...........then again,maybe not.

Here's my '76 Hi-A Mini Beastie that I had in the bridge position of my '73 Ric. What a great little pickup. Bartolini's new Classic bass series sound like the old H-A pickups. Nice full range tone.
