Bartolini 8S P for P Bass , Any Good?

Bartolini 8S P for P Bass , Any Good? I love the look of these pickups (shallow, I know) how do they sound ? How do they compare to say Seymour Duncan Hots ?

I can't say that I know the comparisons, but I've used the 8S on two different projects. The first time was to replace the dead Fender pickup in my old '64 Precision. It made that bass come to life. I got another one for a cheap project bass, and it still sounded great.
