Bartolini 9CBJD #3 vs 9J1 for my Jazz

My local bass shop has both sets available and has it for a good price.

I am looking for a set of passive pickups with noise cancelling.

I play mostly heavy rock (Godsmack et al.) but also sometimes classic rock, metal, blues, even a bit of country.

Thanks!

And yes, I could buy online but I also like to help my local dealer.

From what I know, they will both be silent because they are split coils. The J1 (original series) will be a bit punchier in the low mids, but dull in the highs, and it will probably have a bit more output than the CB (classic bass series). The CB will likely have a nice open treble response and a warm, organic midrange, a bit smoother than the J1. If you need a deep, punchy tone go with the J1, but if you like a smoother more acoustic sounding pickup with not quite as much output then go with the CB.
