Bartolini 9J1 set

Dual coil Jazz pickups. Anyone use them? What can I expect from them if I buy a set?

I got them in my Greene custom with an OBP3 and they sound awsome. Always get complimented on my sound.

You will be pleasantly surprised how "big", full and clear they sound. Some think too articulate. I have them in a mahogany body, in the wider Jazz ('70's?) positions. "Ratty snarl", all the way to "underwater". Keepers for me.

Sounds similar to the DiMarzio Ultra Jazz pickups.

A bit less on the output, and a bit "warmer" but, yes they are in the neighborhood of the Ultra Jazz. I have an Ultra in the latest(in my avatar) fretless. Good for a nice satisfying rumble in the tone. Like a "Jekyll and Hyde" with the big Bart Stingray bridge below it. You can't really mess up too much either way you go. Experiment. Enjoy.

I already have the Ultra Jazz pickups installed. I saw the Barts for sale with a great price and thought I'd try them. If they're pretty similar, I'll leave it alone.
