My Mike Lull J-style 5-string came stock with Duncan single coils and an Aguilar OBP-3. Unless I soloed one of it's pickups, it was dead quiet, -even in the noisiest clubs I played at.
I don't have any experience with the OBP-2, but I assume if your bass is properly sheilded, noise won't be a big issue.
I changed out my Lull's Duncans for a set of split coil Barts a few years back to get a warmer, fatter tone. I'm happy with the sound of the Barts, but I plan on going back to the Duncans to get that Fender-ish tone back.
