Anyone have experience with these pickups?

I'm considering using them in an Allparts 4 string project bass.

I talked to Chris Stambaugh awhile back and he uses them and prefers the tone to the non-classic bass pickups.

Do all of the CB pickups sound the same and they just come in different shapes?

Jongor....

Ive used a CB MM humbucker and CB soapbars in 2 different basses.

In my experience yes...these all more or less sound similar. I would describe the tone as more transparent than a typical bart. The barts to me have always had the muffled/compressed thing goin. The CB's add an airiness or openness about them. I would say the low mid whoomph I'm accustomed to seems to go in favor or a different low end...hard to describe.

Someone once said the Barts sound like a P the Cbs a J pickup.

Tell ya what...check out the Rocket music forum.. He's giving sound samples of his various in stock basses. Some of them have Roscoe barts..the others Barts CBs... you can listen for yourself the difference... Keep in mind his settings are flat so any eqing will change things.
