Bartolini Dual Coils.

I am making a custom 5-string bass. I'm using two bartolini dual coil humbuckers into a 4 band audere preamp. I shielded the control cavity and the pickup cavity, but I am getting a hum/buzzing when I turn up the volume. This happens in Passive and Active mode which made me believe the problem lies in the pick-ups. If I flip one pickup upside-down the hum goes away, but that doesn't really help me since you can't mount the pick-up upside-down. I was wondering if there is a way to reverse wire one pickup to eliminate the hum. Please help, this is my first build and don't know what to do next.
