Question Bartolini Electronics Issues

Sign in to disble this ad
I have a bass I am building (5 string fretless). I put in a set of X4 soapbars, and a 4.6 pre-amp. I wired everything in as Bartolini recommends (pickups to the open poles on the blend pot, and grounding the pickups to the ground lug on the volume pot). I also tried grounding directly to the output jack. Any way I do it, I get no sound at all. I get the pop from the cord if it's unplugged while on, but adjusting the trim does nothing. Tapping on the pickup with a small screwdriver does nothing either. I am trying to get the 9V working, then I'll wire in the second pigtail for the 18V. so everything is the way it came from Bartolini.

I called Bartolini, and all they could say is "we test everything at the factory and pre-wire everything but the pickups bla bla bla...

I also tried soldiering in a passive Charvel pickup I had to see if it was a pickup, but neither pickup on their own work either.

Any ideas?
