Bartolini/Fralin/Nordstrand/SD/Villex for Pbass Blues?

I interested in new pups for a MIM Fender Classic series 50s Precision Bass, with flats, to give me a real good Blues sound to Reggae sound.

A search really didn't give me to much comparison of these brands, especially Villex, in regards to playing the blues.

What experinces/impressions have you all had with:

Bartolini
Lindy Fralin
Norstrand
Seymour Duncan
Villex

pups, with these regards?

I have the Nordstrand NP4's in my P bass... they are great, can't really go wrong. Personally I would not go for the Barts. I will also put in a plug for Brian at Best Bass Gear, great guy to buy them from...

I highly recommend Villex pickups. They are balanced and full, no frequency is presented more over the expense of other frequencies. The Villex-loaded Voodoo was the bass of choice (from my extensive herd that sports many brands of pickups) for a Blues song of mine. I will use the new Villex pickups and EQ on some new songs of mine (ranging from blues to latin) and I will let you know. So far the results have been breathtaking

I had a Fender 50's Precision bass not too long ago w/ some flats on it and thought it sounded great as it was. I was playing progressive stuff w/ a hint of blues and jazz to it, you sure you need new pickups? Dont get me wrong, if there's a certain sound you're after go for it, but if you're getting new pickups because you think the stock fenders are inadequete i'd advise against it. Save your moolah for gas or beer or black tar heroin or something.
