Bartolini got me confused

I'm looking around for barts to go into my next bass build, and have decided I want the M5 size humbucker, the kind that's the same size as EMG 40s. But the bartolini site isn't the easiest to understand and some of it just seems like random numbers and asterisks. Is there a better place to go to find out exactly what my options are with bartolini? I know they have active pickups and their newer passive classic line, but don't know much apart from that.
Bartolini seems to be the choice for lots of the high end builders, and I know some have bartolini custom make pickups, but for those who use non-custom barts what seems to be the popular choice of soapbar? Also, does anybody have experience with the CB series or can tell how they compare to the originals?

Recently I've become a fan of the Q-Tuner pickups. However, with Bartolini, the M55CBC would be my choice. The other Bartolinis are too muted on the top end for my taste.

The 5-string CB info is located here:

When deciding, make sure you buy from a dealer that has them in stock, or you could be waiting a very very long time.

Best Bass gear seems a great source and will also be able to advise you.

A key factor is making sure your string width will work with the type of pickup.
I know the M5 will accomodate up to 80mm if you order their xx version.
I thought it sounded ok in the musicman position, but ultimately preferred their K series jazz pickups for a more raw and growly tone.
Soapbars were too smooth, generally.BUT, recorded well.
