Bartolini Jazz 5 replacement options(Modulus Genesis content)

Sign in to disble this ad
I am considering buying a Modulus Genesis 5. It would be the second one I've owned, and I got rid of mine years ago for reasons I now regret.

A couple of questions.

Have any Genesis owners switched out the pickups to another brand?? If so, which brand?

Also, does anyone know the size of Barts that come stock in a Genesis? I'm assuming its the smaller size(not the Fender size).

Just looking into the options as far as pickup replacements.

Thanks.

The stock Barts are .75"x3.60" (neck) and .75"x3.73" (bridge). Same size as their 59J's - dunno if they're custom wound for Modulus or not.

I'm very happy with the sound of my Genesis, so I never seriously considered replacing the pickups. Mine has an OBP-3 in it, factory option.

Thanks for the info.

I've always just been curious what single coil pickups and passive electronics(my usual preference) would sound like in that bass. I'm going to start looking into options for single coils that would fit in 59J size with little or no routing....
