Bartolini J's sounded bright

Here's the lowdown

I went to Guitar Center yesterday to get some new strings. While I was there, I saw a great looking Modulus VJ with passive electronics and Bart's. I went over and plugged it into a wonderful GK cab and head. Instantly I fell in love with the graphite neck. I rolled back the neck pickup (tone all the way) and spanked out some Level 42 songs. It sounded super bright. Now I don't know if the graphite neck and the GK factors in, but I was wowed at the bright sound of the Bartolini bridge sound. I rolled up the neck pickup, though, and found that familiar warm Bart sound.

P.S. I am the only one who can't get onto Modulus's website?

A lot of Bartolini's J sets are a "Deep neck / Bright Bridge" combo.

Bart does make some brighter J sets too. The 9K1s are a bright version of their mainstay 9J1s.

My Bart J's on my Rogue Lx406 (made for carvin) are very bright. I was hesitant to buy them because I heard barts were woody or dark sounding but I found them to be very modern sounding and quite growly
