Bartolini Pick ups?

Sign in to disble this ad
Hello, I was thinking of getting some new pick ups for my Squire J Bass ( just because I'm bored, there starting to rust a bit, and it'd just be neat to have a messed with squire...) I was looking at some Bartolini pick ups. From what I've heard there pretty decent. Any comments on how there J bass pick ups are would be nice! Also any other pick up suggestions are very much so welcome!

Bartolinis are very nice. I have no clue as to whether they would be an exact fit for your Squier, though. Certainly merits investigation!

Try if you can to play a bass with them first. They seem to be the flavor of the week at the moment so many readily accessible basses have them (like ibanez).

I really do not like them. I've played only the MK2s and whatever the Q5 Modulus had. I would describe it as thin, weak and boring... almost sterile (or maybe its just my playing!). Anyway try to play a bass with some in it first.

Some Squiers (most? all?) use 2 short Jazz pickups instead of a short and a long, so you may want to measure your pickups before ordering any sets. Some manufacturers will sell dual shorts for this reason.
