Building my dream bass. Was thinkin' 'bout a mm/j pup configuration. Anyway, I'm on E bay, just looking at what's available, when a deal jumps out at me that I gotta move on.
It's a set of J bass bartolinis, only 3 months old, with a "buy it now" of $25. I figured "what the Hell, for 25 bones, I'll give 'em a shot".
Well they arrived today and to my suprise I now own a set of Barts model 9E which, according to bart's web site, is an active pup w/ a built in preamp.
I'm not at the stage of putting the bass together yet to install the pups. But I'm dying to know what I've got. Anyone have a set? What do they sound like? Good for jazz/R&b/Slap?
Please boys, Let me know.Check This Out!

I've heard them described as more ballsy than standard barts, which is kind of vague, since there are so many different kinds of Bartolini's, but that's all I know.

I know it's ugly, but who cares? And no, it's not in german.
