Bass No Longer Working. Help Please

I have a Schecter Elite-4 , that for the past two days has been in my basement (Generally the coolest place in the house). I went down yesterday , played it acoustically a bit, and all seemed well. Today i went down to play it through my amp, and ..no sound came out (except for the sound of the amp popping on). I plugged another instrument into my amp for good measure, and it worked fine. The cable seems to be responding perfectly.. so everything seems to be in line except my bass. I'm kinda freakin out.

The input jack is sturdily in place and i've never experienced anything like this. Can someone offer some advice or help, it'd be much appreciated. I'm thinking about unscrewing the jack and pulling it out a bit to see if there are some snapped wires.

Update: now for some reason my bass when plugged in sometimes delivers a very crackly low end but not much other noise gets through. it seems to be doing whatever the hell it wants whenever it wants.

It's a wiring issue. Do you have any loose knobs that could have spun around inside the cavity? That's a big culprit right there.

Also if the output jack has been loose and such, that could cause wires to get disconnected.

the jack is not loose i tried that, i just unscrewed the whole thing and pulled it out a bit, and they all seem to be in place at the jack. am i right in thinking that unscrewing the back plate would reveal all of the electronics?

these are passives, how common is it for the batteries to die?

i wasn't even aware passives had batteries until i opened up the back of my bass a few minutes ago i guess im a bit sloww on the electronic side of musical equipment

Probably passive pickups/active preamp, bro.
