What I have is a Rio Grande Vintage split coil. I wouldn't trade the sound it makes for the world. What I want is to be able to switch between motown thump and modern grind with the same bass.

you could get that "modern grind" with the P by itself just by kicking on a sansamp bass driver.

The driver is more expensive than any of the pickups I'm looking at. I'm also kinda looking for an excuse to tinker and modify.
