best overdrive pedal?
what is youre favorite overdrive pedal for $150 or under? I am thinking the ibanez tube screemer is a good one.. suggestions? Thanks. It is with a Geddy Lee Jazz bass with an Ampeg combo.

That's almost impossible to answer, but I can tell you it's not a Tube Screamer for sure.
A good place to start would be a Hardwire CM-2 Tube Overdrive which can be had for around $50 used. It's somewhat Tube Screamer based, but does not have all the shortcomings that make an actual Tube Screamer such a poor choice.

A better place to start would be the effects forum.

I've not had a bunch of experience with overdrive, but the joyo ultimate drive is the real deal and its less than $40...

+1 on the Hardwire CM2... The EQ gives back all the low end the overdrive may have removed.

Price be danged! Watch the classifieds and you can pick up something really nice for <$150. Check this out: http://johnkvintageguitars.homestead...ve-Pedals.html
I know virtually nothing about OD pedals but I bought a Fairfields Circuitry Barbershop based on the press I read.
