Blend pot anomaly

Sign in to disble this ad
Ok, I have a Bartolini HR-5.2 in my bass. I just had the blend pot replaced with a 250K MN taper blend pot. However, it is not doing much blending. In the center, both pups are on. Anything to the left is just the bridge and anything to the right is just the neck. All, the wiring is 100% correct. This isn't how an MN taper is supposed to work. Do you think the pot is shorting somewhere?

Doesn't sound like it's really the M-N taper then...can you open it and measure resistance on the pot?

I really don't want to mess with it since I just had it replaced. If you mean the value of the pot it's 250 Kilo Ohms.

Sounds like a standard Stew Mac blend pot to me . That's about all your going to get out of it. They aren't very impressive.
