| I don't know how a Lakland is wired; I'm not familiar with that bass. That said, it could be a broken wire, or a crap solder - or a solder that's just gone bad. I'd suggest a visual inspection with a bit of gentle tugging to make sure wiring looks good. Fix anything that doesn't. And maybe go through and retouch solders.
A word of warning - I am not familiar with Laklands, or with your competence with soldering. In general, you should be OK with any solder to pots or to lugs on the pots, but unless you are very competent with soldering, I'd recommend laying off any solders to any part of a preamp. Too much heat and it's gone.
