Lakland Skyline 55-01. PLay it all the time...all day on sundays.
Today, all of a sudden a LOUD hum/buzz. even with treble turned all the way down.

What shall I do ?

Give us a better idea about it...
All the time?
One pickup solo'd?
Which pickup(s)?
Does it change at all?
Better or worse when you touch:
- strings
- bridge
- pickup
Is it a 60Hz hum?
Try a different instrument cable?

All the time? - yes all the time
One pickup solo'd? with both pick ups
Which pickup(s)? n/a
Does it change at all?

It's constant. At First I thought it might have been the current in the church I was playing in but, nope it's happening everywhere.
Is it a 60Hz hum? don't know much about "Hz"
Try a different instrument cable? yes, no difference[/QUOTE]

I don't know how a Lakland is wired; I'm not familiar with that bass. That said, it could be a broken wire, or a crap solder - or a solder that's just gone bad. I'd suggest a visual inspection with a bit of gentle tugging to make sure wiring looks good. Fix anything that doesn't. And maybe go through and retouch solders.
A word of warning - I am not familiar with Laklands, or with your competence with soldering. In general, you should be OK with any solder to pots or to lugs on the pots, but unless you are very competent with soldering, I'd recommend laying off any solders to any part of a preamp. Too much heat and it's gone.
