Buzzzzzzzzz

I like to play with a flat EQ, but whenever I being the treble to the center detent to make it flat it makes a high pitch buzz/crackle sound. I've noticed this on both of my basses. my Yamaha RBX375 and my Fender P Lyte 1993-More Noticable on the Fender. Does anyone know what the problem is??

Sounds like dirty pots. This can happen if you don't turn them often because the contacts can oxidize.

Try some contact cleaner and give them a turn back and forth every so often.
