Bzzzzz from tone knob

Hey guys, I bought a p-bass knockoff fixer-upper with some wiring problems. The wiring was weird, so I rewired it to the fender p-bass diagram (see below).

This worked for a bit, but then one day I got a buzz on the tone knob. When it's turned all the way in one direction, it's fine, no noise. When turned just a bit in the other direction, lots of bzzz. Anybody know offhand if it's just the pot that needs to be replaced, or maybe the capacitor? I'm new to the wiring world, so any help would be appreciated!

I'm guessing that the cheapo tone pot has died. Just for drill, however, I did notice that you did not ground the shell of the tone pot in your diagram. You should do that too. Just run a wire from all the grounds on the volume pot over to the tone pot so it has one too.

mine does that too, but i had a luither wire mine up.
it sounds like a ground, and thats what i have been told anyway.
