Cables

I am having trouble settling on a good cable for my bass. I have been useing a monster cable for the last 6-8 months but it's giving me trouble and I need to replace it. I have also used George "L" and did not like those they tangeld and it went out very quickly ... I do realize you can repair those, which I did but have lost confidence it the cabel.
I'm looking for something durable and one that has the "Quite swith" ... any recomendations.

best stuff I've found... I'm sure if they can get a quality 'quiet switch' plug from a supplier, they would put it on a custom cable for you (at a fair price too)

If you want something you can buy at your local music store I use planet waves cables. They are about the same price as monster cables but are way better. They have compression springs at the end so they stay in the jack better. And they are warranted for life. I have had mine for nearly 2 years now and its still great.

Live Wire for me. Same gaurentee as Monster, but half the cost. They work just as good in my opinion.

Another vote for bayoucables.com. Great guy, great products, excellent prices and service. As I understand it, he builds the cables by hand out of his own workshop to order, so you get exactly what you want, made when you order it.

same with greatcables! Todd and Patty make them to order... standard configs or custom creations. I've never had to wait too long for my stuff. They even do a discount for supporting TB members (they are both long time members here).

Best cable I've ever bought cost me £8, it was a soundlabs cable from maplin, its only draw back is its lumo pink. I have played with planet waves, neutrix, monster, fender, venom, soundcontrol own brand, and those really cheap thin ones you get free (like long patch cables), and I am yet to find anything as reliable, and really can't notice a sound difference between any of them (apart from when their broken), the other advantage is no one wants to steal them, unlike all my other cables apparently.
