Can anyone identify this vintage pickup?

Any info at all would be awesome! Can't seem to find a single thing on this piece.

Made in Germany

Looks like an eighties Shadow pickup... I must admit, I've never seen this model before...

Says it right on the the pickup.

You wont find that model on their site, as they don't make electric bass pickups any longer.

Looks like a DiMarzio copy.

OP, do you know what it came out of? I'm curious about that pickguard.

I know that I've seen a bass with a Shadow pickup on it, can't remember when or where though. I do remember that it struck me as a thunderous thing.

It's not often I say this, but aesthetics-wise, that pickup is awesome! It's like a naked-coil guitar humbucker, but with the appropriate pole piece layout for a bass. I think a pair of those would be great on the right Les Paul bass.

+1 look at that thick wire unless that's some sort of jacket?

The early BC Rich basses had pickups that looked just like that. The they went to the DiMarzio Ps.

If you get a Schaller Bassbucker and remove the cover it looks like that too.

Definitely an improvement over the soap bars they toss in them now!

The pickguard has me thinking Dan Armstrong, can't think of anything else that would be that minimal. What is it???

Edit: just looked at pictures of the Armstrong Lucite bass, the guard runs past and over the pickup. Bah!

If you like tiny little poles.

I think something like this would be better.
