Can anyone suggest pickups/preamp that get this tone...?

I love the tone of bass in this video. Any idea what kind of equipment would be used to get a sound like this?

looks like the bassist has a marcus miller jazz bass. probably any active preamp w/ jazz pickups. ive got a lakland darryl jones with an audere preamp and i can get this sound w/ the neck pickup w/ the bass boosted and the treble rooled down about half way.hope that helps

+1 on the Marcus Miller bass and maybe some flatwound strings maybe. I could be wrong though. I can get that same sound with my Fender and Audere pre amp.
