Can I add a preamp to my thunderbird studio?

Sign in to disble this ad
Yesterday I tested my new thunderbird studio five in a rehearsal, and for me, a guy use to the sound of my P bass with p/j config and my ibanez ATK, the Tbird just sounded lost in the mix.
The guys in the band are used to the growl and atack of the other two basses. I know the Tbird is another diffrerent ballgame and sound. The bass is a very nice one. I don't want to get rid of it, or never play it. So my friends, is it a good idea to install a preamp? and aguilar or bartolini? I would not like to add another pot.
