can I use a stacked 250/500K pot?

I'm going to be wiring up my Pbass with a Villex system soon, and will be using a stacked pot for my Vol/Treb controls, and the Villex 50K mid control. I know if I run a 250/250K pot then I'll lose alittle highend, but the treble control will work well. If I use a 500/500 pot I will get all that the pickup can give, but will lose some control on the treble control. SO I was wondering if a 250/500 pot would solve all my problems..... what do you guys think?

FWIW:

probably splitting hairs but at any rate you won't know if you might want to go brighter or darker until the pups are installed with something. Choose one and go from there.
