Can I wire Norstrand NP4's series/parallel?

Sign in to disble this ad
Checking to see if NP4's can be wired series/parallel and if someone has done that? Trying to get some feedback to see if I will actually get anything out of that scenario

Wait, are you trying to wire TWO NP4s in series/parallel or a trying to wire a SINGLE NP4's coil halves as series/parallel?

If the Nordy has enough wires (four... which is a norm, really), I honestly don't see why it wouldn't work. As for the benefits, I'd wait for someone else to chime in.

You will have to replace the jumper wire with two full length wires that will reach the switch, but it can be done. However, the warranty may be void because you are undoing factory solder joints on the pickup. Of course, you could cut the jumper wire and splice extra length on them...

In the future, if you want a pickup ready for series/parallel we can make it that way here at the factory for you. Just ask your dealer to order it that way. Won't cost any extra...

Wow. The Man Himself appears.

This forum needs a *bow down* emoticon, really. Good to know there's custom options like that.

thanks for the response. I'm still not sure if this will actually give me any sounds that I would really like. Might just leave things alone for know since the pickups have already gotten great reviews.
