Carvin LB75 Frettless Pickups

Just purchased a used LB75 Fretless 5. I was expecting a little more warmth and growl from it, but was disappointed. Any recommendations for replacing the stock pickups and/or preamp?

Hi there.

Is it a newer used one or a older used one? Do you have the current active/passive set up or just the old school full time active version? The reason I ask is to find out what era of electronics are in it.

Generally speaking Carvin has a rather modern/hi-fi sound to their electronics, which I do like, but then again I also have a passive P-Bass Special so I do get the difference.

Just need a little more info, but I'm sure you will have plenty of peeps chiming in with their favorites.
