changing pickups in Warwick streamer $$

Sign in to disble this ad
hello, i am thinking of changing the pickups in a warwick streamer $$. if i simply wire in the new pickups as the old ones were wired in, would the switches still function the same etc... (i.e, will the switches have the same effects as they had with the mec's, or are the mec's specially designed for use with the warwick.

thanks

I believe you would just need to make sure the replacement pickups would have the wiring available for series/parallel/single coil configuration. So from a functionality standpoint this should/could work. But a bigger question to add would be - are the MEC pickups in the $$ models specifically designed for that placement/position? In other words, would just swapping out any old pickups have any undesirable results? I don't know the answer so I'll defer to the experts.

write warwick an email, the usually answer quickly and give good suggestions if you ask for them.
Or use the warwick forum
