Changing stingray to regular trs 1/4"

Just wondering as to what to do with the wires. the 3 grounds, two reds and one white. I thought I would hook all the reds and white up to the tip then the battery ground to the ring then the other grounds to the sleeve. I have a show tomorrow and no other bass available. so HELP! lol.

no!

you can indeed do this, but here's how:

hook the two reds to each other but to nothing else (that gets the 9V+ to the preamp), hook all the blacks except the battery negative to ground, then hook the battery negative to the ring terminal.

i've done a bunch of MMs this way, and it works fine except that sometime you get a weird power-up noise for an instant right after you plug the bass in. (this of course is a non-issue because you would never plug in while the amp was live, right?)

sorry. white is signal, so it goes to the tip connection.
