Cheap/Quick solution to plug not fitting in the jack? The Jack is the problem...

Sign in to disble this ad
B/c the plugs fit fine in all the other basses, this one is just loose a bit.

Any troubleshooting tips/quick rigs to fix this? I know the obv. solution is to buy a new jack, but i don't have soldering iron so it would probably run me $50 to get it fixed this way, which is a big no go right now.

Anyone that can help me?

Push in the contact where it meets the plug tip... towards the center of the hole. Red arrow shows the spot.
Be careful not to bend too much. A little bit should do it...

X nailed it.

If it's an enclosed jack you have to get a new one.

I get you on the cost for outsourcing the repair. But this isn't going to be the last time you need to do this. I suggest you buy yourself a soldering kit & DIY.

Yeah it's enclosed I think, I.e. the end of the plug doesnt even stick through the end of the jack, it stops short before I can see it.

Sigh
