Choice of 2 volume vs blend

Sign in to disble this ad
Recently purchased a Sage bass with Bart Humbucker and Bart single coil. Preamp was upgraded to Aguilar OP3 with 2 volume pots but wired incorrectly. Was thinking of replacing one of the volume pots with blend pot good idea or am I better staying with 2 volume pots.

Depends. It's highly subjective. Search for the many threads here which discuss this to see (and sift out the mis-information).

You'll get about 20 posts about this with 21 different opinions. For me, it all comes down to preference. Purists will say the V/V is the only way to go. I understand the argument but, for me, I prefer the V/B ease of use and really cannot notice a tone difference vs V/V I've owned a ton of basses with both setup and just prefer the ease of use of the blend.

Volume

My major concern is that the humbucker has a higher volume output than the single coil.

What does that have to do with VVT vs. VBT?
