trying to choose a combo for the bass i am making. the sound i want is supper punchy, and good for slap, like rhcp sounding. the type combo is precision and music man pickups. mm in sweet spot, with p right behind, pretty much touching. how much punch would this take out of the precision pickup?
the precision pickup is easy. seymour duncan quarter pounder. heard thats about as punchy as it gets. having trouble with the mm brand. will it need to be super punchy too, to cover the slight sound change from the moved p pups? what would you recommend? i prefer open pole mms, but whatever gets me the best sound
