Cleaning pick up magnets

Anybody have any suggestions for cleaning the magnets on my pick ups?

Assuming there is a reason for this, how about a Scotch-Brite pad?

Even more gentle, how about the eraser on a pencil?

Neither of the above will leave any residue that you can't brush or blow off.

Just DO NOT use steel wool. You don't need metal fibers packing in around the magnets.

A tiny bit of rubbing alcohol applied with some Kimwipes might do the trick.

Well, the pole pieces on my pickups are a bit rusty these days. That could be the reason for the OP.
