Closed Pickup Shells

Sign in to disble this ad
I'm looking for a couple of closed/ no-polepiece-hole Jazz bass pickup covers or shells. I have a kind of oddball Jazz, with two neck length Seymour Duncan pickups in it, and it would just look better with these kind of covers.

I've looked at eBay, and Allparts, but they all want at least $8 a cover, plus shipping! Anyone have some insider knowledge as to where I should be searching?

Neck-length pickups? Either those are huge, or you meant to say something else. Maybe neck-width, but even then most pickups I've seen are a bit wider than the neck...

I've built a bass from rough lumber club #2 (I'm pretty sure).

Samsound: I guess that's just what I call it, although I'm pretty sure you got what I meant anyways.

Jworrell: thanks for the link! Just what I needed. EDIT: Shipping costs are atrocious... more for the shipping than for 2 covers.

You must tell me where you're finding tuners and bridges for under $8. (I'd use an exclamation mark, but the factorial of $8 is over $40K)

Well if your dad would do it, I guess it's not childish. Unbelievably stupid and elderly then.

I don't care if you think it's stupid or not. The OP wanted a cheap cover w/o pole piece holes. $.03 is pretty cheap.

Try buying 400 covers and having them shipped from Korea!

GuitarJones is a good company though.. I get stuff from them.

Nothing on your bass is cheaper then those covers, with the exception of the pots and tone cap, etc.

I meant that I think it's kind of lame to pay so much for a non-functional part. $20 for the covers and shipping from most sites. I got a great deal on parts for this bass, and I'd like to continue in that manner. Thanks for the suggestions guys.

They have them here for $7.95 a set.

http://guitarpartsresource.com/bpickup_covers.htm

Except it's a neck and a bridge.

I think you were seeing $8 a set in those other places, not per cover.
